2 months

Cabin fever was setting in so we celebrated Robert's 2 month birthday with a rare venture out of the house for a little shopping at Nebraska Furniture Mart. He LOVES to go anywhere in the car (like his mommy!) and really enjoys a stroller ride.
Also, Great Aunt Kris was so nice to come and Robert-sit on Saturday evening so that Mom and Dad could have our first post-baby date.

Robert's 2 month well-child visit went great. He's up to 12 pounds 15.5 ounces and 24.5 inches in length! He has already almost outgrown all of his 3-6 month clothes! He got several shots at his doctor's visit and he was a real trooper, crying for only about a minute. Mommy, on the other hand, nearly threw up!

I have 4 weeks left of maternity leave and am already dreading my return to work and leaving him at daycare full-time. Mike and I paid a visit to St. Therese and it made me feel somewhat better because all of the teachers there are SO nice and the kiddos in Robert's classroom all looked really happy. Robert's big project right now is working on cooing and laughing.

7 weeks

We've had TONS of snow and bitterly cold weather the past couple of weeks...check out our back deck. The snow is almost up to the chair seats!Even the Mao-mao's are freezing! Yep, Minnie can often be found sitting ON TOP of the heater vent!

Robert doesn't seem to mind the frostiness...he is spending more time awake and is exploring his world. These days he really likes his bouncy seat, baby swing and being carried around in mommy's sling (thanks, Aunt Kathy!).
Week 6 was an exciting one with the introduction of SMILES!

Week 7 held two big milestones as well....rolling over front-to-back and sleeping 4 hours straight through!
This weekend Great Aunt Kris is coming to babysit for the first time. Mommy and Daddy are looking forward to some couple time and can relax knowing that Robert is in good hands with his Auntie!

Happy New Year!

2010 started out with a bang! Robert's big cousins, Austin and Keaton, and Aunt Traci and Uncle Tony came for a visit. Traci made a huge dinner for us and Tony brought home-made wine. We had tons of fresh snow and the boys (minus the baby) tried out the sledding hill in our backyard. Hilarity ensued!
Yes, this is my husband, looking like a robber...it was only 10 degrees that day!) Don't worry, no children were actually harmed during the making of this video!

Robert is now 5 weeks old and is growing like crazy! At his one month well-baby check-up he weighed just over 10 pounds and had grown 2 inches in length. Bye Bye newborn clothes and diapers!

Christmas

Our busy holiday started out with a visit from Kathy and Derrick on Christmas Eve, who had some news about a special delivery! Robert was very glad to meet his aunt and uncle! Next we braved the sleet and snow to visit Grandpa Karl. We met up with the rest of the extended family on Christmas day. Robert was a big hit! Below are a very tired, but happy Mom and Dad!
